I bought this pack to go with a Hot Wheels Track Track I had bought for my nephews birthday. Pack came with cars and, bizarrely an airship (no wheels). My nephew was more than happy with the cars and the airship too. In fact when we had put the track together I think I enjoyed palying with it and tha cars as much as my nephew. Brought back memories of when I had a Hot Wheels track as a kid.

I hadn't realised the cars weren't compatible with all track types. We ended up with a city pack which included a nice police and fire car, but also a digger (not ideal on a stunt track!). I bought this gift set to go with one of the Hot Wheels stunt tracks. I hadn’t realised the cars weren’t compatible with all track types. We ended up with a city pack which included a nice police and fire car, but also a digger (not ideal on a stunt track!). I ended up going to our local toy shop to buy some stunt cars and I have put away the city pack for a Christmas present. My kids love Hot Wheels, but sometimes it is worth knowing what cars you are actually going to receive rather than buying them ‘blind’ on Amazon.

Their instructions for the design of the XR2 were simple; major changes to the transmission or chassis were not allowed but the car was to be capable of a top speed of 100mph+.<br/><br/>The XR2 used the 1600cc Kent engine already in use in the American Fiesta. The XR2 was given a 32/34 Weber DFT carburettor and a mildly up-rated 4 speed manual gearbox. The brakes benefited from ventilated discs at the front although the rear still used drums. The car was fitted with up-rated and slightly lower suspension and a rear anti-roll bar although surprisingly a front anti roll bar was never used. Also up-rated were the wheels and tyres. The wheels fitted were 13x6 and were the first generation of the "Pepper Pot" design, they were fitted with 185x60 tyres which helped to give the car more grip on the road. The appearance of the car was improved with the square headlights and indicators being replaced by round headlights and the indicators being mounted in the bumper. The front end of the car was also improved with the addition of spot lights and the bumper gaining a set of over-riders.<br/><br/>All this made for a very impressive looking car, which at just £5500 proved to be very popular with approximately 20,000 being sold in the UK by the time the Mk2 was introduced in 1984. But it wasn't just about looks, the engine kicked out 84bhp which could drive from 0 to 60 in just 9.5 seconds and then on to a top speed of 105mph!<br/><br/>Another good use of a casting by Hornby. Like the MkII Granada, I have been waiting for this model to appear in the range for a while as well.<br/><br/>Hornby/Corgi have pretty much got this one spot-on. I own this model of the Aston Martin DB5 by Joyride.This is an excellent model, well detailed in every way.It sits pride of place in my living room and get loads of lovely comments from all who visit.I bought this 1-18 scale model in 2006 in a clearance sale.I won’t say what I paid for it, but what I will say , isn’t inflation out of control.

Very pleased with this item, I had booked my son a dream drive in an Aston Martin, and this was just the thing to make the gift, although the real thing would have been better!! Car very good, as described and delivery was excellent

My husband has kept saying he wants an Aston Martin DB9 – I couldn’t afford the real thing but this seems to have given him just as much of a thrill! It was very well packaged by the company I bought it from and delivered before they said it would be. Excellent.

I have no complaints about the product, its well made and my grandson loves it. – BUT – it was bought for grandson No.2 as grandson No.1 has his own, and there is the problem.
Although the cars are made by two different companies, they BOTH OPERATE AT 27 Mhz AND CANNOT BE USED WITHIN 30 FEET OF EACH OTHER! This means the boys cannot play together and that creates a problem when both are off school.
